Description: The All-Arts, Sciences & Technology Camp, sponsored by UNCGs Division of Continual Learning, is a weeklong summer camp for children ages 7-15. Designed to give in-depth, hands-on instruction in the arts, sciences, and technology, the camp also includes recreation, citizenship, and evening entertainment. Our exciting curriculum is divided into two age groups (2nd-5th grades and 6th grade and up). The activities and concepts for each are designed to appeal to their age group and optimize the learning experience. 2012 LOCATIONS & DATES July 8-13 NC State, Raleigh, NC July 15-20 George Mason, Fairfax, VA July 22-27 UNCG, Greensboro, NC July 29-Aug 3 Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA Our experienced staff is dedicated to a quality program. The staff to camper ratio is approximately 1 to 5. Our counselors and instructors are selected for their experience, enthusiasm, and strong desire to work with youth. They strive to provide your child with a fun and educational env ironment. COLONIES & FIREBRANDS Campers are grouped by grade and gender and assigned a Colony Counselor for the week. Camp Colonies are named after famous artists and scientists, and focus on their achievements and contributions. Through the development and performance of colony skits, campers learn about all of these leaders and appreciate their significant impact on the world. The All-Arts, Sciences & Technology Camp established the Firebrand Awards to provide and opportunity for colonies, counselors, and instructors to discuss values. At the Firebrands Ceremony, ALL campers are honored for achievement in a particular quality of citizenship.
