Camp Information

Camp Namanu

Directors: Kate Larsen

Description: Camp Namanu is a place of enchantment and beauty - where lifelong friendships are formed and the leaders of tomorrow meet both age-old tradition and new ways of thinking. Namanu offers intentional and well-developed programs, with an emphasis on small groups, individual attention, and an appreciation of differences. Programs focus on cooperative group living, exploration of nature, non-competitive sports, skill development, concern for others, fun, and forming friendships. Over 100,000 boys and girls have been to Camp Namanu's 552 beautiful acres of forest in its 88 years at the foot of Mount Hood. Campers live with other kids of the same gender and age group - sleeping facilities include enclosed cabins with bathrooms for our youngest campers, tipis for 7th-8th graders, and treehouses for high school-aged youth. All campers have the opportunity to participate in cookouts, hiking, swimming, boating, nature games, singing, crafts, and choose additional activities in their cabin groups.
