Description: Snorkel through forest-like kelp beds. Sail with ocean breezes. Paddle along the rocky coastline with sea lions, pelicans and eagles. Hike into the protected island wilderness only 26 miles from one of the largest cities in America. All that can happen on your first day at Catalina Island Camps! There is no end to the fun, friends and activities at CIC. Come join us this summer for your next adventure! CIC began in 1922 at the Howlands Sheep ranch at the west end of Catalina Island. Today, Howlands Landing is still the home of CIC. Tom and Maria Horner came to Catalina Island Camps in 1994 and spend every summer at camp leading the staff and campers. Campers live in cabins of up to 10 campers and 2 or 3 staff members. The cabin group is where new and old friends come together to create memories. Cabins are grouped together in either Girls Camp or Boys Camp. Bathrooms and hot showers are adjacent to cabins. We all eat meals together in the outdoor dining area. Campers and parents tell us every summer that CIC counselors are the highlight of each campers adventure. Our counselors are carefully selected, trained and supervised. They bring energy, fun and friendship to every camper, everyday. Experienced leaders supervise counselors. At CIC, supervisors have many years of camp experience and receive additional training in order to coach staff and lead program. Tom and Maria have directed camps for over 20 years each. Please call Maria or Tom or any of our staff to answer your questions about Catalina Island Camps.
