The Naval Academy was founded in 1845, in what is now historic Annapolis, Maryland. The "yard" enjoys a rich tradition and history. The spectacular campus is located on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay. The Naval Academy provides young men and women world class academic and professional training needed to be effective naval and marine officers in their assignments after graduation. The United States Naval Academy strives to develop midshipmen "morally, mentally, and physically."
