Description: Soar ACA accredited programs have provided adventure based learning for youth diagnosed with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD for over 35 years. Special emphasis is placed on developing self confidence, social skill, organization and time management strategies, and life skills. Locations include North Carolina, Wyoming, Florida, California, and the Adirondack region. Adventure activities include wilderness backpacking, horsepacking, llama trekking, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, fishing, SCUBA, snorkeling, sea kayaking, whitewater kayaing, and much much more. Courses range in length from 10, 12, 15, 18 and 26 days, and can be combined for a longer experience. Each adventure provides a unique set of activities in which students learn to apply the skills they have learned to everyday activities. Applications may be completed online.
