Try out a major or career field, pump up your college applications and get a taste of college life! Champlain College's pre-college programs are built around a series of hands-on learning experiences, using state-of-the-art facilities and working closely with industry-experienced professors. This is a perfect chance to try out a certain major and decide whether it is right for you. It also improves your chances of being accepted into the college of your choice, since Admissions staff will recognize completion of a pre-college program as a significant academic accomplishment and a sign of a motivated learner.
Betsey Cox is a girl 's camp with a brother camp next door, combining the best of single-gender and co-ed camps. At Betsey Cox and Sangamon, the entire program is elective. Each camper creates a personal schedule each day from 15 activities and trips. Imagination, action, independence, and self-discovery are the focus of every day. We live in simple, rustic cabins, playing and learning in the outdoors, far-removed from technology and stress. Betsey Cox creates leaders for the 21st century.
Saltash Mountain grows wilderness adventurers. A camp for 40 boys and girls, ages 11-14, Saltash Mountain focuses on wilderness traveling, mastering outdoor skills and community building.
Campers at Saltash Mountain Camp (SAM) spend many of their summer days on the trails and rivers of New England. For at least half of their time at camp, all of the campers are exploring on trips of three to seven days. Six to eight campers go on each trip, led by two experienced counselors. Vermont Summer Academy at Green Mountain College (GMC) are academic camps for high schoolers looking for a pre-college experience. Our co-ed academic program for rising 8th through 12th-grade students from around the globe. Located in Poultney, Vermont, GMC provides a wonderful backdrop to students looking for an amazing summer of transformative academic and personal growth.
Indian Brook is a place for girls to find friendship, adventure, and support in a non-competitive environment. Girls live in open cabins with seven or eight other girls their age and two counselors. The whole camp sings favorite songs after breakfast, then sits together in Silent Meeting before going off for morning activities. Activity areas include Creative Arts, Outdoor Living skills, Rocks and Ropes, Work Projects (carpentry), Barns & Gardens, and the Waterfront.

Roaring Brook is devoted to teaching outdoor skills, outdoor sports, Vermont crafts and conducting wilderness backpack and canoe trips. Self-reliance, resourcefulness, the will-to-achieve and service to others centers the camp philosophy. Located on a 650-acre forest preserve with a private, trout-stocked lake, Roaring Brook is an ideal location and program for boys who wish to experience a fun and exciting outdoor adventure.

Tamarack Farm centers on community building, cooperative work projects and community service. We are a rural farm carved from the Vermont woods, settled snugly between a steep ridge and a long glacial lake. Each summer, a wonderfully close community of staff and campers grows through shared work and simple living. Guided by mature, skilled staff, campers are given many opportunities for meaningful responsibility.

The Putney School Summer Programs offer students age 14-17 the opportunity for in-depth exploration in the visual arts, performing arts, and creative writing, as well as sustainability through our Farm Program. Our ESOL- Program for International Education for non-native English speakers offers English language classes and accelerated learning through language immersion. We enroll 135 students in each 3-week session.
