FAQs

What is special about Camp Yomi?

At Camp Yomi, you know you can trust 92NY Camps to keep your child safe and secure. That means prioritizing communication with parents and making it easy for you to get in touch with staff and camp leadership. It means your child will be supervised at all times by excellent, positive, highly trained staff. Plus, all Camp Yomi activities are designed to help kids form connections with each other. Children learn empathy and respect for others. And they find out what it’s like to make a positive difference in the world.

How many children and staff are in a group?

Camp Yomi is divided into five age-appropriate units, entering grades K-6, with 6-10 groups typically in a unit. Each group in Yomi is co-ed, has between 15-23 campers and two to five counselors, depending upon the age of the campers and the group size. Head counselors oversee two to three groups each. We always honor requests for campers to be placed with their friends.

What special programming do you offer older Yomi campers?

Two afternoons each week, third- and fourth-grade campers enjoy a specialized activity of their choice, called Yomi-lectives. The list of available Yomi-lectives is sent to families in the spring. We offer a variety of sports, arts and special interest electives.

What is Yomi Seniors?

Our Yomi Seniors program aspiration is to grow with your children, allowing 10-12 year-olds in single-sex groups to pursue their expanding interests while enjoying our vast campground. In addition to two daily swim sessions and many group activity periods, Yomi Seniors enjoy field trips, the opportunity to explore two subjects of interest with our Majors/Minors program; and an end-of-summer, sleepaway experience.

Do you have a refund policy?

Yes, we do! Camp tuition is fully refundable through December 31, 2023. After December 31, 2023 through April 15, camp tuition is refundable, less a $500 administrative fee. After April 15, 2024, there are no refunds.

What kinds of activities will my children participate in at camp?

What are 92NY Camps' safety protocols?

Your camper’s safety is our first priority. From ensuring kids wear seatbelts on the buses to and from camp to staffing security guards daily throughout our campgrounds, we’ll keep your child safe. In addition, all staff are required to wear 92NY branded camp t-shirts to identify them as authorized adults, and Leadership Staff have camp-issued phones with walkie-talkie capabilities for easy communication within and beyond the campgrounds. All visitors to camp must have prior approval, and adults must have camper ID codes and be on an authorized pick-up list when they pick up their camper at the end of the day.
