Olds 2024 Overnight Volleyball Camp

NBC Volleyball Intensive Camp at Olds College, in Olds, Alberta, offers a complete overnight volleyball training camp for boys and girls ages 12-18, who desire to learn and master the sport of volleyball. This camp training is for volleyball athletes who have some experience and includes comprehensive skill development, games and tournaments, leadership curriculum, and life skills training. Athletes are placed in training groups and on teams based on age and skill level. Outstanding coaches help work with athletes to achieve their goals. NBC Camps focuses on training the total athlete with an emphasis on skill mastery, mental toughness, servant leadership, and personal faith. Camps combine Christian values with cutting-edge research on talent development, building confidence, and the importance of commitment. OVERNIGHT CAMPER INFORMATION

Daily Times for Overnight & Extended Day: First day check-in begins at 12:30 pm for overnight and extended day campers. Extended Day times from 9:00 am-9:00 pm daily and end on the final day at 4 pm with the overnight campers (Director will provide exact drop-off and pick up times)

EXTENDED DAY CAMPER SCHEDULE

First day: 12:30 pm-9:00 pm. Dinner provided.
Middle days: 9:00 am-9:00 pm. Lunch and dinner are provided.
Last day: 9:00 am-4:00 pm. Lunch provided.

Extended-day campers DO NOT sleep on campus or eat breakfast on campus.

CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Volleyball INTENSIVE Camp offers training in all aspects of the sport including leadership and confidence training. NBC's Complete Player volleyball curriculum is all-encompassing to help athletes develop and master skills to play the game of volleyball with excellence. Intensive camps are faster-paced and require some volleyball experience. Complete Player camps offer overnight (complete program training) and extended day options for those who commute to and from camp each morning and evening.

ROOMMATES & HOUSING

You can request a roommate during registration. Contact nbc@nbccamps.com if you would like to add a roommate request after registration.

DORM ROOMS

When registering for camp, there are two options to choose from:

Single room
Share a double bed with a friend/sibling.

Housing - The information below is subject to change each year.
Air conditioning: No - campers are encouraged to bring a fan.
Lost Key Fee: Yes
Campers per room: 1-2
Bathrooms: Campers share a common bathroom
Supervision: boys and girls are separated into different dorms or different floors with coaches of the same gender staying in the dorms for supervision.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own knee pads and athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well-broken-in volleyball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own volleyball (clearly labeled with their name).
Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this in your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival and meals.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

ABOUT THE CAMPUS

Olds College has a beautiful campus with new dorms, gym and cafeteria. Campers have nice accommodations including private shower, toilet and sink, great athletic facilities, and delicious food.

Camp Director Davis Borden

H. Davis Borden has been at NBC CAMPS for 10 years. He has played 5 years of post-secondary volleyball at Briercrest College. He’s coached all levels from elementary to high school and enjoys every moment of working with young athletes to unlock their potential and teach them life skills that will serve them in all aspects.
