During the school year, Daniel works as a history teacher at Tewksbury Memorial High School. Throughout his career as an educator, Daniel has consistently been a part of the athletics programs. He was an assistant coach for the varsity basketball team at a small private school outside of Chicago, IL, and upon moving back to New England, worked as an assistant coach for the Rising Tide Herons in Plymouth, MA. Daniel has a vast amount of experience working with young people and considers coaching basketball to be one of his true passions alongside his work as a teacher. Daniel hopes to continue to grow with the ASA program in New Hampshire and build a supportive and cooperative basketball environment in the Granite State.

He learned the game playing at the many outdoor courts, and by both watching and listening to the older players around. Coach Lowe went on to use this knowledge and skills to help Newton North go 77-1 over 3 seasons with back to back State Championships his junior and senior seasons! With over 50 scholarship offers coming out of high school, Coach Lowe decided to stay close to home and attend Boston University. He finished his career top 5 in several major categories including points, assists, minutes played, and 1st all time in 3 pointers made! After, college Coach went on to play professionally in Latvia, Israel, and Brazil over 5 seasons.

Now in our 28th year, A Step Ahead Inc. (ASA Hoops) has become a year-round operation offering clinics, classes, camps and AAU. In 2023, over 6000 participants have entered our programs. This up-coming year will be our biggest yet, with over 65 camps scheduled and the expansion of our AAU program ASA Hoops will be one of the biggest basketball operations in New England. Participants, boys and girls, range in age from 7-18 and have come from communities throughout New England and across the globe.
