THIS CAMP WAS FORMERLY AT ALVERNIA UNIVERSITY AND HAS MOVED TO ALBRIGHT COLLEGE FOR 2024.

Nike Soccer Camps will return for its fifth summer in Reading, PA, at Albright College in 2024! Our goal at this co-ed camp is to stimulate a love for the game showing youth athletes how to accelerate their own progress and success.

Team up with camp director Justin Marriott & his True Balance Sports Camps (TBSC) staff for the ultimate soccer training camp! This camp provides a fun and competitive environment for players of all ability levels. Join our staff for an excellent opportunity to take your game to the next level. The players also experience the educational and social growth associated with living away from home in a campus setting. Interactions with and friendships made with players from different towns, schools, clubs and states. We offer an unforgettable growth experience no matter what your age or skill level.

Over 30 Years coaching in youth development, working with Reading Rage, Keystone Athletic and ENCO United in the Lehigh Valley (PA), Spent 4 years as an assistant Coach and Director of soccer operations at Division I, Lafayette College (PA), Asst. Coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University (NJ) and 2 years as Head Coach of Lehigh Carbon Community College for men and women.

CAMP DETAILS:

This program is geared toward Player Development & High-Performance campers. Players will work on mastering the proper fundamentals, techniques and advancing their overall skills and knowledge of the game. A great opportunity for players to learn through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play. With a number of different camp options for all to enjoy!

This is a program for outfield players & goalkeepers. Goalkeepers will be part of a group with outfield players, where they will receive all-round soccer development instruction. There will be GK instruction, both in this general group, in various pull-out groups during the camp, and during game play; there will not be separate GK instruction for the whole camp duration.

SKILL LEVELS

Player Development is for campers of all skill levels. These camps are designed to maximize player participation and ensure each camper develops in all aspects of the game in a fun and engaging environment. Coaches will implement a wide range of technical, physical, and tactical activities with a focus on fun so campers get to improve with a smile on their faces.

High Performance is for campers looking to improve their game in a fun and fast-paced environment. These camps are designed so players leave the camp week more prepared for their club and high school seasons. Experienced coaches will provide campers with a fresh perspective and challenge them to develop technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of their game through a progressive curriculum.

*NOTE: If you believe your camper should be in a different skill level than the age requirement listed, please add a note at check-out and mention it to the camp director on day 1.

HOUSING

The information below is based on previous years and is subject to change each year. Final housing information for this camp will be provided in the Information Packet, emailed to all campers closer to the camp’s start date.

  • Number of Campers Per Room: 2 max. per room, or 3-4 per suite.

  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual, If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!

  • Linens: Not provided. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel

  • Air Conditioning: A/C is not available in-room. Campers are encouraged to bring an individual sized room fan

EXTENDED DAY INFORMATION

  • Day Camp Hours: 9:00am-8:00pm**
  • Daily Check-In & Out: First Day 10am check in. The first training session will start shortly after check in.
  • Meals: Lunch & Dinner is provided for Extended Day Campers

**A closing ceremony will take place at 4pm prior to camp check-out on the last day. Parents are invited to attend! Departure immediately follows the closing ceremony.

OVERNIGHT INFORMATION

  • Check-in: First Day 10am. The first training session will start shortly after check in

  • Check out: Last day 4pm on the last day following closing ceremony**

  • Meals: Day 1: Lunch, Dinner | Day 2-3: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Day 4: Breakfast, Lunch

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from the Nike Soccer Camps coaching staff.
  • Meals & Housing: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
  • Supervision: Staff members reside in rooms strategically placed throughout the dorm to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities
  • Camp T-shirt: All campers receive a Nike Soccer Camps t-shirt and a chance to win prizes

If a player’s ball is lost, a replacement will not be issued. If stock on-site allows, an additional ball ($X) can be purchased from the camp director, or a player brings their own from home. Alternatively, the coaching staff will provide from their limited stock”

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper to coach ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring a well inflated soccer ball, soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, a change of clothes, rain jacket, and a water bottle (32oz or larger)

  • Facility: Gene L. Shirk Stadium, Albright College

  • Medical Protocol: The camp will have an athletic trainer on-site. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

  • Athletic clothing and several changes per day (1-2 pairs/day)
  • Rain Jacket
  • Soccer Cleats (no metal studs)
  • Soccer Ball (if not purchased from Nike at registration)
  • Shin guards
  • Water bottle 32 oz or larger
  • Sunblock
  • Comfortable off-court clothing (pants/shorts, shirts, sweatshirts, 1 pair/day)
  • Undergarments (1-2 pair/day)
  • Pajamas
  • Bathrobe
  • Flip flops
  • Laundry bag
  • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, facewash, hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
  • Personal items & medications
  • Eye mask, ear plugs (optional)
  • Washcloth and bath towel
  • Alarm clock
  • Fan (optional)
  • Bed sheets
  • Comforter or sleeping bag
  • Pillow and pillowcase

DAY CAMPERS

SOCCER BALLS

Nike Soccer Camp Balls can be purchased during registration. Players can choose between a size 3, 4 or 5 ball, which will be shipped out before camp. Shipping is included in the listed price and all sales are final. If a player loses a ball during a camp session, staff coaches will provide for the remainder of the day for camp instruction. For subsequent days, a player must bring a replacement from home. Alternatively, the coaching staff will provide from their limited stock

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

TEAM DISCOUNT

If you have a group of 4 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 8 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $30 discount. please fill out the Team Discount - Soccer form with the name of your group and the names of each camper enrolling in the camp and we will create a unique discount code for your group.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

The camp will have an athletic trainer on-site. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
