The Nike Softball Camp at the Lawrenceville School has been an East Coast favorite for over 20 years. At camp, all aspects of the game will be covered including fielding, hitting, base running, and game-like situations. Join the fun and get better at softball this summer in Lawrenceville, New Jersey! Leading these sessions of camp for the 26th consecutive summer is Lawrenceville Head Softball Coach John Schiel.

Camp Director John Schiel
This is John’s 25th summer as Director of the Nike Softball Camp at Lawrenceville and this fall will be the start of his 50th year as a math teacher here. He arrived at Lawrenceville in 1974 to be a Mathematics teacher, coached freshman and then junior varsity baseball, and was an assistant coach for varsity football from 1974 until 1990. In 1987 he was named head coach of the girls' varsity softball team and has held the position ever since.

Camp Details
Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

2024 CAMP INFORMATION
- Dates: July 8-11, 2024 | July 15-18, 2024
- Age Group: 8-16
- Gender: Girls
- Camp Types: Overnight | Extended Day | Day
- Meals: Day 1 - All Campers are provided Dinner, Days 2 & 3 - Overnight get all three meals, Day Campers get Lunch, Extended Day get Lunch and Dinner; Day 4 - Breakfast and lunch are provided to Overnight Campers, Extended Day campers are provided Lunch.
CAMP TIMES
- Check-In: Monday at 12:00pm
- Check-Out: Thursday at 4:00pm
- Extended Day Camper Schedule: Monday 12:00pm-9:00pm, Tuesday-Wednesday 9:00am-9:00pm, Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm
- Day Camper Schedule: Monday 12:00pm-9:00pm, Tuesday-Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm

HOUSING
- Dorm: TBD
- Campers Per Room: TBD
- Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Linens: Not included. Bring linens (Twin XL) or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
- Air Conditioning: All camper rooms are air conditioned.

- Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY
Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are initially grouped by age and moved around accordingly based on skill level.
Facility: Outdoor Fields. Indoor facilities are available during inclement weather conditions.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
TRAVEL
Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.
TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT
If you have a group of campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a discount. Please have someone contact the US Sports Camps office at 1-800-645-3226 with the names of each camper in the group and we will create a unique discount code for your group. Campers may then register individually through the website at their convenience and apply the offer code during checkout. *Discount amount varies by program. Please call for details.

The Lawrenceville School is located in central New Jersey, five miles south of Princeton, 55 miles south of New York City and 40 miles north of Philadelphia. Lawrenceville has 17 dormitories, 10 classroom buildings, and 7 other support buildings on 700 acres in a rural setting.
