Many of my friends are dying to have a laptop, I was lucky enough to get my dad's old one a year ago, and I've gotten more than a year's worth of use out of it. Here are some reasons parents should consider getting laptops for their kids, if they can. Seventh grade was hectic, and without my laptop, I don't think I could have gotten through it. I took it everywhere, and it dug me out of some deep holes. When I was in a play, I was typing a paper between scenes. All of a sudden, my work disappeared. With the help of some costars, I was able to retrieve it. (Luckily, by the time I told my mom, I'd finished the paper!) My parents and I used to argue constantly over the setup of the screen. The laptop gives me some space to express my personality with my own wallpaper. And for me, the best reason to own a laptop is that I'm writing this article while I'm on vacation!
