2018 Youth Summer Camps at ACNW

Experience Your Environment!

The Audubon Center of the North Woods (ACNW) youth camps have a focus on wildlife, nature, challenge and outdoor skills. Experience the great outdoors and make memories that last a lifetime!

All of our camps are overnight, residential camps with indoor lodging. ACNW provides great accommodations, wonderful scratch-based meal service, a top-notch, experienced staff, and engaging activities to provide one of the best outdoor camp experiences around.

ACNW has been committed to providing environmental and outdoor education experiences to all ages since 1971. Our programs connect people with the outdoors with a focus on developing environmental understanding, ethics and responsibility through experiences that link nature and humans. We are accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and offer residential environmental & outdoor educational experiences to K12 youth, families, college students & adults, as well as youth summer camps.

Need-based partial scholarships are available.

2018 Sessions:

Rocks, Ropes & Rafts - June 24-29

Are you ready for a full week of adventure and adrenaline? Experience all the thrills of white water rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, high ropes and more at our beautiful, 640-acre campus. For extra thrills, we will take field trips to parks and rivers near Sandstone as well as to great outdoor destinations in the North Woods. This overnight summer camp is guaranteed to appeal to the adventurer in you! Entering Grades 6-8.

Ways of Wildlife - July 8-13

Spend the week learning about caring for captive animals and exploring the lives of animals in the wild. You will have the chance to get up close and personal with the animals at the Audubon Center as well as take a number of wildlife- focused field trips. In addition to our time with animals we'll also traverse the high ropes course and have time to cool off in Grindstone Lake! Entering Grades 4-6

Outdoor Explorations - July 22-27

Unleash the explorer in you! Spend a summer week roaming our forests and learn how to build fires, shoot a bow, and make a survival shelter; then find your way home using only a compass. Challenge yourself on our rock wall and high ropes course, and then relax by swimming, fishing and canoeing on beautiful Grindstone Lake. It will be a week of new adventures and excitement in the great outdoors! Entering Grades 5-7.
