Camp Sangamon is located on a small lake in the hills outside of Rutland, Vermont. Sangamon was founded in 1922, and have based many years of success on one fundamental philosophical difference from other camps. While most camps operate on the premise that adults should generally make decisions for children, we believe in the opposite premise - that camp is a perfect setting to give children the chance to make their own decisions.

Sangamon and Betsey Cox, brother/sister camps next to each other, combining the best of single-gender and co-ed camps. The entire program is elective. Campers choose each day from 15 activities and trips. Emphasis on arts and individual sports.
