Two camps are offered this summer: One for budding creative visionaries (ages 8-12) and a more advanced camp geared towards an experienced film student. Both camps are perfect for those who want to explore filmmaking and learn how to master the skills involved in building a story, directing and editing a film.

From the first day of class, students are behind the camera gaining hands-on experience using numerous exercises to expose students to the many different types of filmmaking. Students will get extensive experience in script writing and character development, and learn how to professionally tell a story through visual composition, using advanced camera and editing techniques.

Each student will produce at least one short film. The more advanced class will produce two or three films from one written script. This enables students to collaborate and understand how different stories can be told from different perspectives.

Students will have access to the San Domenico Digital Media Lab with its cutting-edge equipment, range of digital and film cameras, lighting equipment, advanced editing software and much more.

San Domenico offers a four-year film program and has enjoyed much success. A record five SD student films were selected to participate in The Lark Student Film Festival, with one of these, ""Redwood Grove"" receiving top honors and two other films, honorable mentions. "Redwood Grove" will also be showcased at the internationally renowned Mill Valley Film Festival and the Newark International Film Festival.
