OKLAHOMA 2024 OVERNIGHT BASKETBALL CAMP

Located at Southern Nazarene University near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma NBC Basketball is hosting a boys' overnight basketball camp. These camps are designed for players who are passionate about basketball and are willing to work hard to improve. Led by a top-notch NBC coaching staff, campers will work on skill development, full-court gameplay, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. OVERNIGHT CAMPER INFORMATION

Daily Times for Overnight & Extended Day: First-day check-in begins at 12:30 pm for overnight and extended day campers. Extended Day times from 8:30 am-9:30 pm daily and end on the final day at 4:00 pm with the overnight campers (Director will provide exact drop-off and pick-up times)

EXTENDED DAY CAMPER SCHEDULE & INFORMATION

First day: 12:30 pm-9:30 pm. Dinner provided.
Middle days: 8:30 am-9:30 pm. Lunch and dinner are provided.
Last day: 8:30 am-4:00 pm.

Extended-day campers DO NOT sleep on campus or eat breakfast on campus.

CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Complete Player Camps offer training in all aspects of the sport including leadership and confidence training. NBC's Complete Player basketball curriculum is all-encompassing to help athletes develop and master skills to play the game of basketball with excellence. Complete Player Camps offer overnight (complete program training) and extended day options for those who commute to and from camp each morning and evening.

ROOMMATES & HOUSING

Roommates for this site need to be requested at least two weeks before camp begins. If you have no preference, we will match you with a camper of the same gender and similar age. Contact nbc@nbccamps.com if you need to add a roommate request.

Bathrooms: Campers share a common bathroom
Supervision: boys and girls are separated into different dorms or different floors with coaches of the same gender staying in the dorms for supervision.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own ball (clearly labeled with their name).
Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival and meals.

HEALTH & RELEASE FORMS

All registered campers are required to have a parent or legal guardian fill out the mandatory Health & Release Forms online before arrival at camp. This camp does NOT require a doctor's signature on the forms.

CAMP INFORMATION PACKET

A detailed Camp Information Packet containing check-in location and address, on-site staff contact information, a checklist of things to bring, site-specific forms, and more will be emailed to all registered campers before camp. To check if your Camp Information Packet is ready, click here.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your son on time.

NBC Basketball offers six 30–45-minute online courses to help you get ready for camp and remember your training after camp. Become a strong player all year long. Add it when you register or click here to add after your registration.

Overnight Camp - Sample Schedule

8:00 am Breakfast
9:00 am Ball handling/dribbling drills and competitions
10:00 am Individual offensive breakdown, attack moves and finishing, shooting
11:30 am Competitive drills and play such as shooting games, small sided games, and live scrimmage
12:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm Defensive strategy (individual and team work)
1:45 pm Shooting fundamentals and correction, shooting focused workouts
2:30 pm Live play 3-on-3 to 5-on-5
5:00 pm Dinner
6:00 pm Evening Program (life skills/leadership training, small group discussions)
7:30 pm Fun basketball activities and competitions such as mini-tournaments, intensity night, and short full court games

ABOUT THE CAMPUS

Southern Nazarene University is located northwest of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The campus hosts a beautiful main gym and cafeteria. Each room typically accommodates two campers with nearby private shower facilities.

Food sample:

Hamburgers, pizza, salad bar, all-you-can-drink juice, soda, milk, dessert option. Great dining options and hotels close by for parents who want to stay nearby.

College Gym with six baskets, nice floor, and air-conditioned. Three gyms are available within easy walking distance.

Bethany is located northwest of Oklahoma City and directly west from Edmond.

Camp Director Donnie Bostwick

Donnie Bostwick is the head men’s basketball coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. He has 465 wins in his 17 years as a head college coach while winning over 80% of his games and multiple National Championships. He has coached many All-Americans and has five players honored as National Player of the Year. He has coached the no 1 and no 5 ranked all-time career collegiate 3pt shooters Brandon Cole (527) and Steve Briggs (498). His teams have traveled around the world on Mission Trips from Africa, Asia, to Central America. He has directed basketball camps for nearly 30 years and been with NBC for close to ten years. He considers coaching a ministry and opportunity to bring Glory to his Savior Jesus Christ.

Unlike other camp programs where skills training falls under the expertise of the camp director, NBC Camps has built a program of training to help each camper walk out of camp a better player and person. Our site directors work as event managers helping to run a great week of camp and facilitating the implementation of our specific camp expectations.

Our basketball instruction is based on skill curriculum and talent development we believe are essential to take your game to the next level. Though coaching styles and drills may change, our master teachers receive resources, lesson plans, and detailed training on how to maximize the camp experience. Coaching at camp is much different than coaching a team. With 50 years of successful history, our goal is to give you the best basketball and life skills instruction possible.
