College Basketball Prep Camp is for serious basketball players that have plans to play basketball at a collegiate level. This intense basketball training camp will challenge players both physically and mentally.
Join us this summer at Vanguard University, where NBC Camps has developed some of the most successful basketball players from around the region. College Basketball Prep Camp (CIC) prepares serious high school athletes for college basketball and college life. Offering a 5 day intensive camp each summer, this camp location captures players from all over the US who want to improve their game on both sides of the court. CIC's experienced coaches are determined to help every player gain an edge on their opponent and grow as a leader. We strive to help each athlete gain confidence both on and off the court.
The CIC basketball training camp is designed to be the country’s most comprehensive and advanced basketball training program. CIC stands for Crowell's Intensity Camp after NBC founder and President Fred Crowell, and his son Jay. This camp reveals what is necessary to play at the college level. CIC instruction centers on skill development, speed and strength improvement, and specialized position training. Camp provides an in-depth focus on shooting & scoring, attacking the basket, ball handling, learning how to maximize your athletic potential, leadership training, building confidence and insight on how to compete at the next level.
Athletes are accepted through an application and recommendation process.

Co-Director Jay Crowell
Son of NBC Camps founder Fred Crowell, Jay and Fred work together to run this College Basketball Prep Camp. After being recruited to play for the Georgia Bulldogs as their point guard, Jay and Fred designed this program to give players an insight on the college basketball experience.

Coach Damion Jablonski
Jablonski is Head Coach of the Whitworth University Men's Basketball team and has been on staff since 2011. Over the course of his tenure the Bucs have won 229 games, seven Northwest Conference titles and seven NWC tournament crowns.

Camp Director Rhett Soliday
Rhett Soliday was named the 2013-2014 NAIA National Coach of the Year after leading the Vanguard Lions to the 2014 NAIA National Championship. Soliday has been Head Coach of the Vanguard Basketball program since 2010. Prior to Vanguard, Soliday had served as an assistant coach at University of California, Irvine for four years and at Concordia University for four years.

Dates: July 28 - August 1 | Ages Boys 14-19
How to Attend College Basketball prep Camp
Step 1. Complete this application form and attach or email a recommendation letter from someone who knows both your character and basketball ability explaining why you would be a great candidate for this camp (Not a family member. Pastor or Coach works great). You do not have to complete this step if you have attended CIC before.
Step 2. Register for camp with your $300 deposit. The application will not be considered until the deposit is made. This is completely refundable if you are not accepted.
Our staff will review your application. We will either send you a notification you have been accepted or we will schedule an interview with our staff to help with consideration. You may also attach a highlight video to the application.
TRANSPORTATION
ALL TRANSPORTATION IS DEPENDENT ON NUMBERS AND MUST BE RESERVED IN ADVANCE.
For those flying into Spokane International Airport, there may be a shuttle leaving around 11:45am on the first day of camp from the Spokane Airport to Whitworth University. If you arrive after 11:45am, you must make your own travel arrangements. Extra shuttle fees apply.
There may be a shuttle from Whitworth to the airport after camp on the final day. If you make early flight arrangements, you will be responsible for your own transportation.

What if I need to fly to camp a day early?
We do have athletes flying from the East Coast or from out of the country who need to arrive one day early based on flight schedules. Please contact CIC before making final flight arrangements as the University CANNOT accommodate these campers in 2024. Contact [email protected] or call Michelle at 800-406-3926 ext. 304. Extra fees apply.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 7:00 am Wake Up
- 7:30 am Ball Handling
- 8:00 am Breakfast
- 9:00 am AM Session: full court transition, post and guard stations, shooting stations, 5 man motion offense, inbound plays/ games and tournaments
- 12:00 pm Lunch
- 2:00 pm PM Session: offensive attack moves, defensive positioning, court awareness/ 3v3 and 5v5 games
- 5:00 pm Dinner
- 6:30 pm Evening Program and Leadership Groups
- 7:30 pm Evening Competition
- 10:00 pm Lights Out
ABOUT THE FACILITY
Whitworth University's 200-acre campus of red brick buildings and tall pines offers a beautiful, inviting and secure environment. Campers will be staying in the gorgeous university dorms. The quality cafeteria facility provides an all-you-can-eat salad bar with fresh fruit, hot entrees with beverage, sandwich and cereal stations. Whitworth is located seven miles north of downtown Spokane, Washington. Transportation from Spokane International airport is available through NBC Camps for an additional fee.
Camp Questions & Answers
What is the level of competition at the camp?
College Basketball Prep Camp attracts athletes at a high level of skill. Most of the students who attend end up getting college scholarships. Currently, College Prep alums are playing in top 25 programs at the D1, D2 and D3 level.
How do I apply to attend College Basketball Prep Camp?
Complete the College Prep Application and pay your $300 deposit online. Your application will be reviewed and the coaches will determine if more information is needed to accept you as an athlete. Please note that College Prep Camp has very limited 14 year olds who are accepted and the competition is high. NBC Camps recommends you attend the Boys All-Star Camp first before coming to College Prep Camp, if possible.
