Head to Silver Spring for a week of skills, drills, games and a whole lot of fun in summer 2023! This coed camp is the perfect place to improve your basketball skills, grow your confidence, and make new friends!

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

Camp Director Keith Byrd

MVP Hoops Club (https://mvphoopsclub.com) + Coach Byrd, looks to elevate your game to the next level through a unique blend of offensive basketball training, competition, defensive intensity drills and developing the necessary knowledge of the game of basketball at Nike Basketball Camps throughout the year. Byrd joined the men’s basketball staff at American University during the summer of 2023 and serves as the Chief of Staff. For more than 20 years he has served as a basketball coach for players of all ages. He has been successful in coaching players who have been named College All-Americans, All-Academic All-Americans recipients. During the 2018 season Coach Byrd coached the National Junior College Player of the Year, who would later move on and play professionally.

In less than 5 years as a college head coach he successfully won over 100 games, the fastest in the college's history to meet this accomplishment. During his career, he has received several Coach of the Year honors.

· Winning More Than 100 games in less than 5 Years (the fastest in the college's history to meet this accomplishment) comprised a 105-40 overall record.

· Named Men’s Basketball Conference Coach of the Year.

· Selected District Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year.

· Named CKA Men's Basketball Coach of the Year.

· Coached 12 All-Conference Players, 3 Conference Players of the Year, 3 All Americans, 3 All-Academic Americans

Each day campers will focus on a skillset, Shooting, Dribbling, Defense and Teamwork. Additionally, campers will work directly with coaches during team and individual sessions. This basketball camp will also cover in-game situations, current rules and necessary knowledge about the game and its rich history.

PACKING LIST

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
