Due to COVID-19 restrictions put in place by the facility, we will not be hosting camp at Harlingen High School in summer 2021. However, we do plan to be back in 2022 and hope to see you there!

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

Camp Director Nick Noel

Coach Nick, born and raised in San Antonio, enters his second year as Camp Director for Nike Basketball Camps after working as a lead coach for many summers. Noel has nearly 15 years of youth basketball coaching experience and joined Pro Skills Basketball in February of 2017 where he started Pro Skills Basketball of San Antonio.

Coach Nick is actively involved with the charitable organization Access to Success. In 2016, Coach Noel traveled with A2S to Nigeria where he was the basketball camp director with over 300 players.

HIGH SCHOOL

Originally from San Antonio, Nick Noel attended his first two years of high school and played basketball at Judson. During his junior and senior years, Nick played basketball at Boysville, but still graduated from Judson in 1999.

COLLEGE

After high school, Nick attended Blinn Junior College. After one year at Blinn, Coach Noel transferred to Texas Southern University, and ultimately ended up at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he studied psychology.

PROFESSIONAL

After high school, Nick Started coaching youth basketball for the YMCA in an after school program. He soon realized that coaching was his calling. In 2004 Nick was hired as a YBIL (Youth Basketball Instructional League) coach for Home Court America. By 2007 Nick ran basketball camps, clinics, and coached a 12U club team for Home Court.

Home Court America closed its doors in 2008, but that did not stop Nick from continuing his club team. The SA Hurricanes played until 2012, winning numerous tournaments along the way. With his passion for basketball still intact, he continued to coach club basketball in the San Antonio area through 2016. In 2010, Nick was hired as the head boys basketball coach at Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School where he coached five years. In his final season at Mount, his team won the AIAL district championship by going 6-0 and won the AIAL city playoffs for the team’s first city championship in 30 plus years. In 2015, he was hired at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School as the head basketball coach where his team won the AIAL city championship twice, giving the school its first city championship in over 60 years.

Ultimate Championships teamed up with Nike Basketball Camps in 2013 and has been helping children discover the Ultimate Champion inside of themselves every year since.

Ultimate Champions Basketball Academy was founded by National Nike Sports Camp Director Terrence Jones. Headquartered in San Antonio, TX, Ultimate Champions hosts Nike Basketball Camps over spring, summer, and winter break throughout Texas, New York City and most recently, Baton Rouge. Their vision is to help players enhance skill development, athleticism, explosiveness, and overall game through positive and challenging instruction.

MEALS

Breakfast and lunch are provided by Harlingen High School. Breakfast is optional and will take place prior to camp instruction between 8am-8:45am. If you will not be eating breakfast at camp, please arrive at 8:45am.

ULTIMATE CHAMPIONS PHILOSOPHY

In order to be successful there has to be a strong foundation. If a builder is building a house, he must have a strong foundation in order for the house to stand properly over time. Well, the same is for basketball. There must be a strong foundation in fundamentals for continuous individual improvement. In addition to an emphasis on skill development, camp will also aim to improve each players athleticism and explosiveness.

BASKETBALLS

Nike Versa Tack Basketballs can be purchased during registration for $25. Players can choose between a size 6 (28.5", standard girls) or size 7 (29.5", standard boys) ball, which will be passed out on the last day of camp. Please note that it is not required to bring a basketball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability. Parents are invited to attend the closing ceremony! Departure immediately following.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.

Information PACKET

A detailed camper information packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact numbers, and a checklist of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. The US Sports Camps health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We cannot offer scholarships due to NCAA regulations. Our affiliation with NCAA coaches and schools puts us in a position where any scholarship money can be seen as an inducement to a future collegiate athlete. This puts our coaches and our host universities in jeopardy of damaging their status with the NCAA and incurring penalties at the hands of their organizing body.
