Set at the beautiful San Diego State University facilities, players will get to see and feel what at top University feels likes. They'll train like Division 1 athletes and get to see what it takes to compete at a high level.   • Ryan hopkins sdsu

    Head Coach Ryan Hopkins

    A Southern California native, Hopkins is the fourth head coach in program history. He has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Virginia where he helped lead the Cavaliers to a 21-2-1 record in 2019 and an appearance in the NCAA Championship match where they tied Georgetown 3-3 before losing on penalty kicks.

    Associate Women's Soccer Head Coach - SDSU Chassion Griggs

    Chassion Griggs enters his seventh season as a full-time assistant, and first season as Associate Head Coach. in March 2017. He previously served as an assistant coach and a volunteer assistant coach under Mike Friesen for six seasons and works with the side's keepers.

DAY CAMP PROGRAM:

  • Dates:
    • June 10-13, 2024 (Mon-Thur)
    • July 22-25, 2024 (Mon-Thur)
  • Ages: 6-14
  • Gender: Coed
  • Full-Day Camp: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Meals: Lunch is included
  • Daily Check-In & Out: at SDSU, 5200 55th Street, San Diego, CA 92182 is the best address to put into navigation. You will have to pay for parking below the field called the SDSU Sports Deck which will be Parking Lot 7. You want to purchase a permit in advance through the Aztec Parking Portal. All-day permits are $7.00 versus $15.00 on the day of. We will be holding camp check-in/sign-in on the first turf field to the left of the parking garage. We will have someone there to help guide you as well.

*Daily check-in starts 15 minutes before camp start time

You'll see firsthand how the SDSU Aztecs train, each player will get to develop every aspect of their game with the SDSU coaching staff. Emphasis is placed on players sharpening their technical and mental skills as they are pushed to improve in every training session

CAMP TYPES:

Day Camp: This program is geared towards players of all abilities. Campers will work on mastering the proper fundamentals, techniques and advancing their overall skills and knowledge of the game. A great opportunity for players to will learn through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play.

*Please note: SDSU requires campers to complete a school-specific waiver prior to camp. Please print and bring the completed form on the first day of camp.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from SDSU coaching staff

  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities

  • Meals: Lunch is provided

  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: All campers receive a Nike Soccer Camps t-shirt and prizes

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper to coach ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.

  • Facility: San Diego State University

  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

  • Athletic clothing
  • Soccer Cleats (no metal studs)
  • Shin guards
  • Water bottle
  • Sunblock
  • Packed lunch and snacks
  • Small gym bag/backpack

SOCCER BALLS

Nike Soccer Camp Balls can be purchased during registration. Players can choose between a size 3, 4 or 5 ball, which will be shipped out before camp. Shipping is included in the listed price. Please note that it is not required to bring a soccer ball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction. All sales are final.

TEAM DISCOUNT

If you have a group of 4 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 8 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $30 discount. Please fill out the Team Discount - Soccer form with the name of your group and the names of each camper enrolling in the camp and we will create a unique discount code for your group.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

San Diego State University is the oldest and largest higher education institution in the San Diego region. Since it was founded in 1897, the university has grown to become a nationally ranked research university. Campers stay in the dorms on campus, two per room, eat in the dining hall and train on the SDSU soccer turf playing fields.
