Come join UNH Head Swimming Coach, Josh Willman, for an exciting week of camp where swimmers are challenged to improve their stroke technique through mental, technical, and physical training. Camp will be held at the University of New Hampshire, located in Durham, a diverse, dynamic, and beautiful part of New England. The UNH campus is only an hour from Boston and is also conveniently close to the Atlantic Ocean, as well as New Hampshire’s rugged White Mountains and pristine Lakes Region.

The Nike Swim Camp at the University of New Hampshire is designed to help competitive swimmers gain the edge they need to get ready for the season and compete at the next level.

This camp is open to any and all entrants. For your safety and benefit, we recommend you have competitive swimming experience (e.g. U.S.S. age group, national qualifiers, high school swimmers, or summer league swimmers) and can swim at least 50 meters in all four competitive strokes: fly, back, breast and freestyle.

Please Note: This camp SOLD OUT in 2023. You can expect a high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early. Come join Head Coach Josh Willman and his staff in July and get ready for an intensive pre-season stroke technique camp. This summer, New Hampshire is offering one week of overnight and extended day camp (9:00am-8:30pm) for ages 11-18 and a day camp (9:00am-4:00pm) for campers 10 and up.

2024 OVERVIEW
  • Dates: July 28-31
  • Age Group: 10-18

  • Camp Type: Overnight (Ages 11-18), Extended Day (commuter), & Day (commuter)
  • Check-in: Overnight Campers: check-in between 1:00-2:00pm at Sawyer Hall. Extended Day and Day Campers check-in at 1:45pm at Sawyer Hall.
  • Check-out: There will be a closing ceremony at 12:00pm. Campers check-out immediately following the closing ceremony.
  • Extended Day Schedule: SUN 2PM-8:30PM, MON-TUE 9AM-8:30PM, WED 9AM-NOON **Times subject to change

  • Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Lunch and dinner are provided for all Extended Day (commuter) campers. Dinner (first night) and lunch provided for all Day (commuter) campers.
  • Program: The Stroke Technique program is designed to provide competitive swimmers with a better understanding of swimming fundamentals. Stroke refinement along with constructive feedback will be the focus of the camp and allows each participant to gain a greater knowledge of proper stroke mechanics and ways to improve themselves individually.

CAMP CHECK-IN

Sunday, July 28th

  • OVERNIGHT CAMPERS: check-in between 1:00-2:00pm on Sunday at Sawyer Hall.
  • EXTENDED DAY & DAY CAMPERS: check-in at 1:45pm on Sunday at Sawyer Hall.
  • There will be a camp orientation meeting at 2:00pm.
CAMP CHECKOUT

Wednesday, July 31st

  • There will be a closing ceremony at 12:00pm on Wednesday. Campers will check out immediately following the closing ceremony. The Director will provide more information on the first day of camp.
2024 HOUSING
  • Dorm: Sawyer Hall
  • Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Bathrooms: Shared
  • Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
  • Air Conditioning: NO A/C - Please bring a portable fan

SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
  • Instruction: Morning, afternoon, and evening training sessions
  • Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
  • Extended Day campers: Lunch and dinner are provided.
  • Day campers: Dinner provided on Sunday; Lunch is provided Monday and Tuesday.
  • Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Swim Camps t-shirt and prizes.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your water swimsuit, swim cap, googles and towel(s)
  • Facility: Henry C. Swasey Pool
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

Checklist of Things to Bring: We recommend that all Extended Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: swimsuit, swim cap, goggles, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, sandals, water bottle, dry land gear (running shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts, sweatshirt) and any other appropriate clothing for that day’s activities which will be described to you on the first day of camp.

Unh Pool Facility Nike Swim Camp

Henry C. Swasey Pool

Campers train each day at the Henry C. Swasey Pool which is the home of the New Hampshire Wildcats swimming and diving team. Located in UNH's Field House, the 25-yard pool has six lanes for competitive use with and attached 13-foot deep diving well that includes one and three meter duraflex boards. Completeing the facility is a 650 seat balcony for spectator seating at New Hampshire home meets.

Upon arrival at UNH, campers are placed in groups with other swimmers having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve.
