Simply put, Road's End Farm is a small camp that appeals to girls who just love being around horses, caring for them, and riding for enjoyment rather than competition. As an integral part of a working horse farm, the camp provides unlimited exposure to horses and rural life in a picturesque setting. DERS Summer Horse Camp program offers in-depth education for kids, tweens and teens! Campers join us for 2 riding lessons each day (weather dependent), hands-on grooming, tacking, unmounted equine education, horse care and horse related art projects to bring home.
Campers are divided by age and ability. A Rider Assessment Lesson is REQUIRED for all levels except Li'l Equestrians and Beginner riders.

We provide a safe, engaging and meaningful camp experience with enriching activities, fitness fun, social and emotional learning, and much more. Your child will enjoy a variety of activities every day with friends and peers, exploring math, science, reading, writing, arts, sports, nature and outdoor environment, and global diversity.
Our camp curriculum is structured to promote teamwork, enhance self-esteem and build skills while incorporating the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association and meet up to 300 standards for health, safety and program quality.
Our camp program features an array of traditional, sports, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), and leadership camps. Join us for one or more weeks or all summer long. Full-day, half-day and extended day programs are available for campers ages 3-15. We offer programs in Garwood and Westfield. Financial assistance is available for Y memberships and programs.
Our staff receive over 20 hours of pre-camp training including certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid with EpiPen administration, asthma inhaler training, anti-bullying prevention, behavior management, child abuse awareness and much more. We also have a full time first responder on staff for summer camp.
We will comply with all CDC and Health Department guidelines to ensure the safety of your child at camp, including all COVID 19 guidelines which may be in place. All programs and program activities are subject to change based on CDC guidelines at time of camp.
