Camp Nuhop | Social Emotional Summer Camp in Ohio Building confidence, connection, and independence for more than 50 years.

For more than 50 years, Camp Nuhop has been a leader in inclusive summer camp experiences designed to help young people grow socially, emotionally, and independently. Located in the Mohican region of Ohio, Nuhop serves campers ages 6 to 18 in a structured and supportive community where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

As one of the first camps of its kind in the United States, Nuhop is built on a tried and true model that blends traditional camp experiences with intentional social emotional skill development. Small group living, consistent routines, and caring staff create an environment where campers can practice communication, cooperation, emotional awareness, problem solving, and friendship building every day.

Camp Nuhop is designed for youth who benefit from structured environments, smaller group experiences, and intentional social skill development within a traditional camp setting. Campers develop confidence through outdoor adventure, creative expression, team challenges, and leadership experiences. Nuhop also offers extended adventure trip programs to the Adirondacks, the coast of Maine, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Wisconsin. These experiences help campers build independence, resilience, and self confidence while supported by experienced staff.

Nuhop staff receive extensive training in youth development, facilitation, and camper support, ensuring that growth happens in ways that are both meaningful and developmentally appropriate. Families consistently report increased confidence, improved social skills, greater independence, and stronger self awareness when campers return home.

Camp Nuhop is more than a summer camp experience. It is a place where young people build skills for life, form lasting friendships, and discover a true sense of belonging.
