  • Winter Address:

The Walk-On Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering students through education and technological resources. Its mission focuses on providing technical and soft skills training, particularly in areas like frontend web development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), to prepare students for academic and professional success. The foundation also offers support through scholarships, school supplies, and workshops, ensuring accessibility for under-resourced communities. By fostering creativity, problem-solving, and accountability, it equips learners with the tools to excel both in classrooms and careers.

The Walk-On Foundation offers virtual courses for self-paced learning, including:

HTML Course: Teaches the basics of structuring web pages with elements such as headings, paragraphs, links, images, and lists.

CSS Course: Covers styling web pages, controlling layouts, colors, fonts, spacing, and mastering responsive design techniques for visually appealing, consistent designs across devices.

JavaScript Course: Focuses on making web pages interactive by learning variables, methods, functions, and building dynamic, responsive web applications

The Walk-On Foundation was founded in April 2019, initially focusing on providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors in its local community. Over time, its mission expanded to include creating educational resources and curricula designed to meet Department of Education standards, targeting elementary, middle, and high school students.

Between 2020 and 2024, the Foundation validated its educational offerings, distributing school supplies, laptops, and backpacks to partner schools. It also engaged communities through workshops for parents and hackathons for students. In 2024, the foundation launched an online platform to offer frontend development courses, making its programs more accessible to learners of all ages."
