About Wrestling Camps and Programs
Wrestling camp is usually designed to help serious junior high and high school wrestlers improve their skills to become champions. There are some wrestling camps out there just for newbies or young children to learn and enjoy, but for the most part, they are very competetive. In summer wrestling camps, training is generally intense and combines classes about technique with tough drill sessions and actual live wrestling. The point is to get the kids highly motivated and into great wrestling shape by the time wrestling season comes around.
Learning Skills: Wrestling camp helps build self esteem and confidence through discipline and hard work. Good leadership and teamwork is also promoted as well as focus, concentration and positive thinking. Goal setting is another important skill that can be learned at wrestling camp.
Highlights: The most important highlight of wrestling camp is the competition that is held at the end of most camps. All of the students can display what they have learned during this competition, and the winner can receive anything from a certificate to a medal to money. Friends and families can attend this event as well, and see how much their camper has improved. Another highlight of some camps is a trip to a professional wrestling match.
