Smoky Mountain Adventure Camp, situated adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the Cherokee National Forest, is only a short distance from the popular resort town of Gatlinburg. Campers enjoy a full adventure experience as we cave, hike, backpack, tube, canoe, rappel, rock climb, ride horses, white-water raft, and participate in outdoor and naturalist programs. Usually geology camps are combined with a variety of sciences like archaeology, marine biology, paleontology and engineering, to create an all-around science camp. Other camps involving geology focus on the outdoors, including survival skills, archery, camping and wildlife observation, in addition to learning about the geological landscape of the area. This combination of activities makes geology field camp both fun and challenging.
