About Co-Educational Geology Camps and Programs

A geology camp is not just for learning about geology. Usually geology camps are combined with a variety of sciences like archaeology, marine biology, paleontology and engineering, to create an all-around science camp. Other camps involving geology focus on the outdoors, including survival skills, archery, camping and wildlife observation, in addition to learning about the geological landscape of the area. This combination of activities makes geology field camp both fun and challenging. Kids can have a great time while learning information that will help them in school, and maybe even inspire their career choice. There are camps for girls and boys, as well as camps specifically designed for girls to gain interest in science.

Weather Considerations: The activities that make up geology camps are, for the most part, held outside. It is important to choose a camp located in an area with agreeable weather conditions, because if it rains or thunderstorms, many excursions are likely to be cancelled.

Academic Benefits: Geology camps cover many topics commonly taught in school science classes in an entertaining way. Because of this, these camps can help your child dramatically improve his or her grades in science, and possibly increase enthusiasm for the subject.
