Camp Hazen YMCA is a classic overnight and day camp in Connecticut where kids build friendships, confidence, and independence through outdoor adventure and community living on the shores of Cedar Lake. Located on 170 wooded acres in Chester, Camp Hazen has been creating meaningful summer experiences for more than 100 years. About Connecticut Skateboarding Camps and Programs

At skateboarding camp, beginners can learn the basics and more experienced riders can learn advanced techniques. Kids of all ages can utilize awesome jump ramps to perfect their ollies and other tricks. Most skate camps feature a beginner area for novice riders, plus more advanced equipment such as mini ramp half-pipes and 10-foot vertical ramp half-pipes, plus bowls and other areas for practice. Kids can learn either in a group or one-on-one.

Safety: Since injuries are par for the course when it comes to skateboarding, each skate camp should have a focus on first aid and safety. Medical staff may be on hand to administer any bandages if needed.

What to Pack: Be sure to pack your child's safety gear and skateboard, although many camps do have these essentials in case your child doesn't own any of those things.

Counselor Certifications: Counselors should boast clean background checks, and hold the necessary certifications in their field. They may be college students or amateur and professional skateboarders. They should be able to provide a fun yet safe environment for all campers. Staff should be well-trained and possess the necessary know-how to teach kids of all ages and abilities. They should all be CPR and First Aid certified as well.
