About Maryland Rafting Camps and Programs

Rafting camps and programs combine outdoor adventure with exhilarating experiences. Under the direction of knowledgeable instructors, these programs teach young rafters the essentials of whitewater rafting, such as paddling techniques, teamwork, and water safety. In addition to being an exciting activity, rafting is a great method for kids to gain self-confidence and conquer obstacles in a safe, supervised setting.

Rafting calls for a team of people to work together, listen to one another, and quickly adjust to shifting circumstances, which builds real-life skills of cooperation. Campers gain the ability to depend on one another, pay close attention to directions, and step up when necessary. There’s no other activity that teaches these valuable life skills in such an exciting way. Campers learn trust, leadership, and self-confidence, which they will take with them long after camp ends.

These camps promote environmental awareness and physical fitness as well. Rafting exposes young adventurers to the beauty of nature and cultivates a greater awareness for the environment. Navigating rivers helps them become stronger, more coordinated, and more resilient. Many rafting camps also incorporate hiking, swimming, and other nature education into their curricula.

Rafting programs offer the perfect balance of excitement, education, and personal development for parents hoping to give their kids an amazing camp experience.
