About New York Teen Tours Camps

Teen tours are an exciting opportunity for teenagers to see different places around the world with their friends in a three- to five-week adventure tour. The aim of these tours is to broaden the horizons of teenagers by showing them different historical places and amazing panoramic vistas, teaching them about historical and cultural background of the destinations, and allowing them to meet and interact with local people.

Highlights: Teen programs differ primarily in the travel destination. Some will bring teens to beautiful places in the United States—lush tropical beaches in Hawaii, amazing canyons in Arizona or beautiful cityscapes in New York. Some will have the teens traveling around Europe to see the majestic Alps in Switzerland, to explore ancient artworks in Paris or Rome, and to see the awe-inspiring castles in Ireland, Hungary or the Czech Republic.

What to Ask the Camp Director: When looking for a teen tour program, the primary thing you should find out is the detailed itinerary of the trip, and how this is structured to give your child a fun and educational experience. Ask about the locations where your camper will be staying, as you want your child to maximize his time with the activities in the teen tour and not spend the whole day traveling.

Special Counselor Considerations: Teen tour staff should be experienced in traveling. They should be adept in travel planning, in handling groups of teenagers, and have a background in the language used in the place where they will be traveling.
