      About Waterskiing Camps and Programs

Waterskiing camp provides instruction for this popular water sport, starting with beginners and progressing to more advanced levels. Some camps are geared just for waterskiing enthusiasts, while others offer a variety of water sports activities in addition to water skiing, such as wakeboarding and tubing. Coaches may go over topics such as basics like how to put the skis on to how to achieve a standing position in the water.

Levels of Expertise: Be sure to ask what level of experience is required for students entering the camp. Are there varying programs your child can attend that address his specific ability level, whether beginner or advanced? Some waterskiing camps may focus on the basics for small children and focus on advanced concepts like slalom waterskiing for older teens.

What to Ask the Camp Director: As parents, you should have a list of questions ready to ask the camp director before sports camp begins. Does the waterskiing camp offer top of the line equipment and boats? Are instructors certified and experienced? Is there a low camper to instructor ratio? How much time will my child get on the water each day?

Safety: Ask about the camp's safety record. Ensure that there are appropriate medical staff on hand in case of an emergency, and ensure that all staff are qualified, experienced and background checked.
