Camp Dovewood: One of the best Horseback riding camps for girls in North Florida, with English and Western riding instruction, horse shows, trail rides, grooming and stable management. Dovewood is an interdenominational Christian camp for girls 7-17 with 24 additional fun-filled activities for girls to select. This is the perfect specialty for active campers who enjoy the sillier side of sports and just want to have a blast trying new things! Each day, campers will participate in a variety of active and enjoyable games and activities. All a little different from what campers might expect. Welcome to St. Michael's Summer Camps! We have two branches of camps, both located on the scenic campus of St. Michael's Country Day School, in historic Newport, Rhode Island. Campers will enjoy our beautiful seven-acre seaside campus overlooking one of Newport's famous beaches, and have complete access to the school's facilities, including classrooms, a new library, large art studios, state-of-the-art science labs, a fully equipped theatre, a computer lab, playgrounds and playing fields. In addition, we have a beautiful outdoor swimming pool on the grounds, and all campers get swim time as a refreshing break at the end of a productive day in the theatre. A certified lifeguard is on duty at all times. St. Michael's Summer Fun Camp - Summer fun for ages 3 - 14, choose from seven- week long sessions beginning June 26th including Sports, weekly themed Adventure Camps (3 - 5 yrs and 6- 12 yrs) and Enrichment Camps with themes like Chess, Lego Robotics, Creative Movement, Math Madness, and much more... Theatre at St. Michael's Camp - We invite young performing artists to come together with our talented staff for an amazing summer of theatre! TASM uses each individual's talents to create, rehearse, and produce a unique theatrical event. These events include an original movie screened at the Jane Pickens Theater, an original musical written by the campers and given a world-premiere performance, and a pair of Shakespearean plays. Campers are involved in all aspects of the production, both onstage and off, developing existing theatre talents (although no previous experience is necessary), learning new skills, and making lifelong friends along the way. Our sessions this summer include the Original Movie Production (June 26 - July 7), Original Musical Production (July 10 - July 29) and Shakespeare Camp "As You Like It" (July 31 - August 12), all for ages 9-15, as well as our Teen Shakespeare Intensive "King Lear" (July 3 - 15), for ages 14-18. TASM also offers a popular tech program for those young thespians who would rather be behind the scenes - they will learn proper use of tools and equipment so they can help with the design and creation of the set, props, costumes, and also run sound, lights, and special effects during rehearsals and performances. About Acting Camps and Programs
Does your child or teen want to shine on the screen or the stage? Acting camps offer a nurturing, safe environment where campers can get creative, build confidence, and have fun learning the art of performance. Aspiring actors and actresses of all levels will develop their artistic and personal skills via games, activities, and rehearsals at these camps.
Campers gain confidence in their ability to express themselves, articulate their thoughts clearly, and embrace their individuality via performing in front of others. Creativity, improvisation, and public speaking are also abilities that help children in the arts as well as in future job interviews, school presentations, and social situations. Acting camps teach to connect with an audience, read emotions, and project their voice through acting.
