This is the perfect specialty for active campers who enjoy the sillier side of sports and just want to have a blast trying new things! Each day, campers will participate in a variety of active and enjoyable games and activities. All a little different from what campers might expect. They learn the fine art of stealing bases during slip 'n' slide baseball, challenge their balance with a log roll, become a hero when they capture the flag, and much more. Our Wacky Sports coaches inspire good sportsmanship, character building and creativity as campers revel in the fun of learning new skills, making new friends and having a blast!

Welcome to St. Michael's Summer Camps! We have two branches of camps, both located on the scenic campus of St. Michael's Country Day School, in historic Newport, Rhode Island. Campers will enjoy our beautiful seven-acre seaside campus overlooking one of Newport's famous beaches, and have complete access to the school's facilities, including classrooms, a new library, large art studios, state-of-the-art science labs, a fully equipped theatre, a computer lab, playgrounds and playing fields. In addition, we have a beautiful outdoor swimming pool on the grounds, and all campers get swim time as a refreshing break at the end of a productive day in the theatre. A certified lifeguard is on duty at all times. St. Michael's Summer Fun Camp - Summer fun for ages 3 - 14, choose from seven- week long sessions beginning June 26th including Sports, weekly themed Adventure Camps (3 - 5 yrs and 6- 12 yrs) and Enrichment Camps with themes like Chess, Lego Robotics, Creative Movement, Math Madness, and much more... Campers get daily dips in the pool. Adventure programs include crafts and story time, all with professional caring instructors and enthusiastic assistants. Half and full day programs available. Theatre at St. Michael's Camp - We invite young performing artists to come together with our talented staff for an amazing summer of theatre! TASM uses each individual's talents to create, rehearse, and produce a unique theatrical event. These events include an original movie screened at the Jane Pickens Theater, an original musical written by the campers and given a world-premiere performance, and a pair of Shakespearean plays. Campers are involved in all aspects of the production, both onstage and off, developing existing theatre talents (although no previous experience is necessary), learning new skills, and making lifelong friends along the way. Our sessions this summer include the Original Movie Production (June 26 - July 7), Original Musical Production (July 10 - July 29) and Shakespeare Camp "As You Like It" (July 31 - August 12), all for ages 9-15, as well as our Teen Shakespeare Intensive "King Lear" (July 3 - 15), for ages 14-18. TASM also offers a popular tech program for those young thespians who would rather be behind the scenes - they will learn proper use of tools and equipment so they can help with the design and creation of the set, props, costumes, and also run sound, lights, and special effects during rehearsals and performances. All sessions are led and directed by theatre professionals, and the end-of-session productions are invariably well-attended smash hits. Cost varies by session, and financial aid is available. About U.S.A. Film Camps and Programs
For children and teenagers who are enthusiastic about storytelling and visual creativity, film camps offer a perfect entry to this exciting art form. From writing and script development to filming, editing, and presenting their final product, these programs fully immerse participants in the filmmaking process. Film camp provides a safe, interactive setting where they may explore their passions and acquire useful skills that go well beyond simply handling a camera.
Campers that attend film camps may decide on a number of different paths for a hobby or a full-time career, including director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, or more. There are many opportunities in film and entertainment, and these camps provide an introduction and a hands-on experience for a variety of film crew positions.
In order to realize their ideas, campers learn how to operate professional equipment, comprehend lighting and sound design, and work with editing software. They are also honing their visual communication, pace, and storytelling skills at the same time. These camps cultivate a harmony between artistic vision and practical skills that are useful for future academic or professional endeavors. Campers may decide to go on to make full-length films, shorts, television shows, or online videos with their skillset.
Additionally, film camps foster important social and personal growth. Campers frequently engage in groups to produce short films or other video projects, teaching them problem-solving, cooperation, and teamwork skills. Filmmaking is a team effort. The friendships and personal skills developed in camp can last a lifetime. During end-of-camp screenings, children get a real sense of pleasure in their completed films and a sense of accomplishment when they show them to their peers and families.
