The Nike Cross Country Camp at Stanford University is called the Camp of Champions for good reason - Stanford enjoys international recognition for its ability to turn talented young athletes into world-class runners. The Camp of Champions offers campers the rare opportunity to experience first hand, the life of a Stanford student-athlete. Runners are placed in small compatible groups based on weekly mileage, current fitness, ability, and XC experience. Each running group is assigned an experienced counselor, for specialized training and individual attention. Instruction is given by Stanford coaches & staff. Our camps are open to any and all entrants, ages: 12-18 Any athlete who has sufficient preparatory education to be academically eligible to enter college in the fall following the camp date will not be permitted to attend the camp. Drugs, alcohol and smoking are strictly prohibited and constitute grounds for immediate dismissal from camp.UPDATE: You are required to attest to the following when registering your child for a camp or clinic at Stanford University: My child is over 5 years of age and will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the start date of my camp. *Fully vaccinated is considered two weeks after the second shot. Booster shots are encouraged but not required.In addition to the vaccination requirement, my child will have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the start of the camp or clinic. *Approved tests include: Antigen, Rapid or PCR test.I will show proof of full vaccination status as well as negative COVID-19 test results for my child at check-in. *Proof of the vaccination status and negative test results can be provided either digitally or on paper.I understand that failure to comply with the stated policy results in my child not being able to participate in the camp or clinic. About Day Camps and Programs
Day camp offers youngsters a chance to participate in a wide variety of sports and activities. Summer day camps are also ideal for younger campers who are perhaps not yet ready for an overnight camp experience. If your child likes to stay busy with a variety of different sports, crafts and other activities, this may be your best camp choice. Some day camps require you to drop off and pick up your child, while others provide transportation from central locations. Some camps provide lunches and snacks, and others do not. The kinds of sports and activities will vary from camp to camp, so be sure to inquire ahead of time about the kinds of activities that will be offered to your child.
Highlights: Day camps offer the widest variety of sports and activities, though some do specialize. The camp day is typically shorter for children, making it perfect for younger kids.
Learning Skills: Day camps offer children an introduction to the camping experience. They will learn new sports and crafts, and will learn good sportsmanship from playing on teams and working with their peers. In addition, they'll gain an added sense of independence from the experience.
Levels of Expertise: Camps such as these are often geared to first time or beginner campers, though some day camps offer advanced programs.
