About Stunt Camps and Programs
Your little stunt devil will have a blast at stunt camp, learning the tricks of the trade. Kids can take courses such as Hollywood stunts to learn the basics of what it takes to become a stunt double in a movie, perhaps. They should enjoy being active, taking some risks and trying new things. Qualified instructors can show how elements like mechanics, physics, engineering, computers and electronics can all contribute to making a safe yet fun stunt show. The stunt program you choose for your child may feature intensive, hands-on training to prepare him for a possible career in the movies.
Highlights: Fun courses can include pyrotechnics, bullet hits, air cannons, rigging, crash pads, fire safety and rappelling.
Safety Considerations: Instructors practice the utmost in safety protocols when it comes to teaching kids and teens about stunts through stunt camps. Many instructors are actual stunt men and women who have many years of experience, so be sure to inquire about specific experience and certifications before signing up your child.
What to Ask the Camp Director: Be sure to ask what the teacher to camper ratio is. The smaller the better, as you want more personalized attention for your youngster, which translates to greater supervision.
