Ice cream! Gummy worms! The ever-popular slime! In this specialty, campers have a lot of hands-on fun. They explore a variety of science-related activities. They learn how to combine everyday items to create amazing reactions, participate in awesome projects and conduct edible experiments. Basically, campers get to blow things up, blast off rockets, create crazy concoctions and build stink bombs! (All under the watchful eye of our attentive experts, of course.)

Camp Hazen YMCA is a classic overnight and day camp in Connecticut where kids build friendships, confidence, and independence through outdoor adventure and community living on the shores of Cedar Lake. Pali Adventures is a one-of-a-kind overnight summer camp. Kids choose a morning specialty and all of their own afternoon activities to design a personalized adventure. We are one camp, but while campers are here they explore different interests. We are proud to offer Ninja Warrior and 29 amazing specialties - from Motorsports to Flying Trapeze - and everything in between. Our campers follow their dreams, try incredible new things and gain lifelong friends in a safe and supportive environment. It's time to wander into the great blue yonder! In Pali's aviation specialty, campers learn the basics of aviation with hands-on activities. Campers develop an understanding of aerodynamics then build and launch a rocket. They handle our quadrotor drones for a birdseye view of Pali. With our VR flight simulator, campers practice takeoffs and landings under different conditions. Campers exercise problem-solving and critical thinking skills all week. The capper of the week? A real flight above the beautiful San Bernardino mountains with a qualified pilot-instructor!

Campers go undercover and become the next James Bond or Black Widow! Secret Agents are trained to expect the unexpected, and they love these unexpectedly awesome activities. Each day, campers have the time of their life as they work together to complete missions and earn their stripes. At the end of the week, they graduate as new secret agents and receive a custom dog tag.
About Skateboarding Camps and Programs
At skateboarding camp, beginners can learn the basics and more experienced riders can learn advanced techniques. Kids of all ages can utilize awesome jump ramps to perfect their ollies and other tricks. Most skate camps feature a beginner area for novice riders, plus more advanced equipment such as mini ramp half-pipes and 10-foot vertical ramp half-pipes, plus bowls and other areas for practice. Kids can learn either in a group or one-on-one.
Safety: Since injuries are par for the course when it comes to skateboarding, each skate camp should have a focus on first aid and safety. Medical staff may be on hand to administer any bandages if needed.
What to Pack: Be sure to pack your child's safety gear and skateboard, although many camps do have these essentials in case your child doesn't own any of those things.
Counselor Certifications: Counselors should boast clean background checks, and hold the necessary certifications in their field. They may be college students or amateur and professional skateboarders. They should be able to provide a fun yet safe environment for all campers. Staff should be well-trained and possess the necessary know-how to teach kids of all ages and abilities. They should all be CPR and First Aid certified as well.
