Surprise Lake Camp

Since 1902, Surprise Lake Camp has provided a haven for children in the beautiful mountains of Cold Spring, NY. What makes SLC the best is the beauty of the site, the richness of the people and the program, the sense of history and tradition, and the magic we create when the whole thing comes together. We invite you to explore our website to learn all that you can about us. If you would like to speak to someone live, please don't hesitate to call us. The summer of 2016 will be better than ever and we hope you are as excited as we are! We're building a swimming pool!

YMCA Camp Hanes

At YMCA Camp Hanes, you get to "unplug" and enjoy all kinds of exciting things that you can't do at home. And in the process, you'll learn new skills and make new friends (and memories) that you'll cherish forever. You can be yourself, while having a great time and building your self- confidence at your own pace. So why do so many kids come back every summer? Ask the campers, and they?'ll tell you it's because of the terrific experiences they have here. Ask the campers' parents, and they'll say that their child seems more confident. Or more motivated. Or more outgoing. The laughter and adventure and fellowship that thrive here at YMCA Camp Hanes may last a short time each summer. But the memories - and the lessons - will last a lifetime. Visit us on April 19th, 2020 from 1:00-4:00pm for our Open House. Contact us: 336-983- 3131 or www.camphanes.org

Killooleet Camp

Camp Killooleet is a summer camp for boys and girls ages 9 - 14, is nestled into a beautiful corner of the Green Mountain National Forest in Hancock, Vermont. For over 70 years it has been owned and run by educators who know and listen to children. We build a supportive community with a balance of sports and arts activities.

Killooleet is a 'traditional camp' (varied activities, full season, weekly hikes and two overnight trips) that goes its own way in a non-traditional manner. The directors state, 'We want every camper to find activities they particularly enjoy and specialize in them. A child works hardest in areas he/she delights in. Camp is geared so that the artist can still play on a softball team and the avid basketball player can still ride horses or have the lead in a dramatic production. Camp is non-competitive and highly individual. Strong cabin groups are built through working and playing together. Trust is extended and minimal defenses are needed. Vitality explodes. Almost all campers return until they're too old to return. This is their second family, where they find themselves.
