Ice hockey camp is ideal for boys and girls who enjoy padding up and participating in this team contact sport. Not only will your child learn the mechanics of ice hockey, but he'll also learn how to work well as part of a team and develop lasting friendships. Along with a healthy dose of competitive spirit, your child may get exposure to some of the sport's greatest pro players, as many ice hockey camps boast former NHL players and other high-level coaches who can inspire your little hockey player to greatness. Choose from day camps or overnight camps, which typically include intense hockey training sessions that focus on passing and scoring, teamwork and individual positions such as goalie.
What to Pack: Be sure to pack all your child's protective and playing gear. Many day camps provide lunch, and overnight camps include all meals and 24-hour supervision.
Supervision: Because the safety of each camper is of primary concern, many ice hockey camps feature staff members who live and work on the premises, offering round-the-clock supervision, especially on overnight camps.
What to Ask the Camp Director: What if I have to cancel? Many ice hockey camps do understand if you have a valid reason for canceling. They may give you a credit for camp tuition payments valid through that year, transferable to a friend or even a family member.
