Many kinds of sports camp offer baseball as an activity, but only a baseball camp will give your young baseball aficionado day after day of baseball and baseball related activities. Most baseball camps are co-ed, and their primary goal is to teach campers how to improve their game. Skills such as fielding, hitting, base running, stance and team playing are taught, in addition to building your camper's confidence and teaching them good sportsmanship. A camper's overall fitness will also be worked on, with the end result of your camper being more fit and skilled at the game of baseball. Campers are often separated by age, and all levels of experience are welcome.

What to Ask the Camp Director: Some camps offer exposure to college and professional level baseball scouts; be sure to ask if this is an option.

Equipment to Bring: Campers are usually asked to bring their own baseball pants, shorts and socks, bat, helmet, gloves, and cleats. Check with each camp to see what they recommend each camper bring.

Levels of Expertise: Campers with all levels of experience are typically welcomed at baseball camps. Select camps offer programs for teens who want to pursue baseball at the professional level.
