Animation camp provides kids with the foundation they need to excel at graphic design and drawing. Animation can occur in digital or print form. Some children are great at freehand sketching, while others are skilled at graphic design. The focus of animation camps varies: some may offer programs for teens in 3D animation, while others may target younger children with a budding interest in drawing. Program offerings may include writing, editing and directing animated short films, focusing on design, character construction and sound-image relationships. Attending a graphic design camp encourages students to use their imaginations to create a unique work of art.

Counselor Considerations: All counselors should be fully background checked. Also, many teachers are at the forefront of their industry, providing custom tailored programs to pass along their expertise creating state-of-the art 3D animations.

Levels of Expertise: Since each age group presents its own abilities and limitations regarding animation, the camp you choose for your child should be specifically geared toward his age group and skill level. These are highly specialized camps that commonly segregate by specific age groupings to further enhance each camper's ability.

KidsCamp Tip: Some camps are not specifically animation camps. Sometimes they are grouped under arts or computer design camps, where you can pick and choose the exact program you want for your child.
