Your budding model will have a blast at modeling camp. She will learn the basics of the profession, from how to walk straight to how to give a great photo shoot. There are various camps and programs offered for different age levels and abilities, from Miss Cotillion camps and fashion camps to modeling workshops and behind the scenes camps. Each day may feature a different focus, such as hair and makeup day, fitness day, social graces day and photo shoot day.
Highlights: Many modeling camps culminate in a fun fashion show for family members and friends.
Things to Pack: Your child will need plenty of fashionable clothing, plus some comfortable ones as well, such as sneakers and workout clothes for any fitness days. And for specialty days, like skin care and makeup days, be sure to bring your child's makeup kit and a stand mirror. Photo shoot days may require two or more outfits, makeup kit and mirror, plus hair accessories and combs.
What to Ask the Camp Director: Will meals be served? Your modeling summer camp may provide lunches for campers, plus breakfast and dinner if they are overnight camps. Some day camps do not, however, so be sure to inquire if you need to bring a brown bag lunch.
