This team water sport combines swimming with soccer, basketball, wrestling and other sports to create water polo, enjoyed by boys and girls of all ages. Water polo camps focus on the fundamentals, such as ball handling, individual and team play, positioning and warm-ups. If your child flourishes in a competitive yet supportive atmosphere, he will enjoy being a part of water polo camp, where he will not only learn the sport but also make lifelong friends who share the same interests.
Highlights: Along with lots of in-water instruction, campers can receive one-on-one instruction from guest instructors who may be Olympians or star coaches. They may also have access to conditioning and nutritional programs, as well as classroom sessions that concentrate on game strategy.
What to Ask the Camp Director: What if I need to cancel for some reason? Many water polo summer camps will allow you to cancel up to two or three weeks before the camp session date with a refund. Canceling after that may result in a camp credit for the full paid amount.
What to Pack: Campers should bring their swimsuit, goggles, sunblock and towels, along with comfortable shoes and clothing for other activities.
