Math camp is an educational program designed for students with exceptional mathematical talents and for those who want to advance their knowledge further in this particular subject. Unlike a standard math class, a math camp is more of a community. It incorporates activities that stimulate problem-solving skills and at the same time, it nurtures interaction among students so that they are able to improve their mathematical capabilities in a positive and supportive environment.

Highlights: Math camp provides fun and stimulating activities that even non-math lovers will enjoy. Instructors provide and facilitate challenging mathematical problems, group problem-solving sessions and individualized tutoring. Some math camps offer social events and outings as well as guest lectures from internationally recognized research mathematicians. Others provide specialized educational programs for a particular subject of math such as geometry, trigonometry or algebra.

Academic Benefits: Students who participate in math camps acquire advanced mathematical skills that may not be taught in school. Because of this, they will find it easier to excel in their math subject in terms of exercises, examinations and recitation.

Counselor Certifications: A math camp counselor should have a degree in either Mathematics or Education with specialization in a math subject. He or she should also have training and experience in teaching and working with children.
