Home school camps may offer different sets of activities depending on the area; some may be for the performing arts, while others may be more traditional in nature, with campfires, canoeing, rock wall climbing and nature walks.

What to Ask the Camp Director: Do I get a refund if I have to cancel? Many camps will give a full refund, minus the deposit, if you cancel within two or three weeks of the camp. Any later than that and you may lose the full amount, or receive a credit toward another camp.

Highlights: Some camps are family homeschooling camps that are geared to mom and dad as well as the kids. They may offer informative discussions about lesson plans and social activities to enlighten parents about homeschooling.

Counselor Certifications: Counselors may be experts in home schooling, as well as current teachers and other educators. There may be counselors on hand for group and individual sessions.
